Top Aces Welcomes Canada’s Minister Mélanie Joly to Its Bagotville Training and Maintenance Facility
Bagotville, Québec, August 20, 2026
Top Aces Inc. today welcomed the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Canada’s Minister of Industry and Minister responsible for Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions, to the company's operations and maintenance centre in Bagotville, Québec.
Minister Joly was greeted by Paul Bouchard, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and Didier Toussaint, Group President, before touring the facility's aircraft maintenance, modification and mission support areas at one of Top Aces' principal Canadian operating bases, home to roughly 100 employees. During the visit, she met the fighter pilots, maintenance technicians and support staff who have delivered advanced combat training to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) since 2005, while sustaining one of Canada's most specialized tactical aviation operations.
The visit included a review of the company's Alpha Jet rebuild program, where aircraft are disassembled, inspected, modified and returned to service – supporting both fleet readiness and highly skilled aerospace jobs in the region.
"It was a privilege to host Minister Joly and introduce her to the people whose expertise underpins a uniquely Canadian aerospace and defence capability that strengthens military readiness at home and abroad," said Paul Bouchard, CEO of Top Aces.
"Bagotville reflects the depth of aerospace talent that exists here in Quebec. For more than 20 years, our team has strengthened the readiness of the Canadian Armed Forces with world-class air combat training while building a uniquely Canadian capability to sustain, modify and operate tactical aircraft. Those capabilities now support military training programs across North America and Europe, demonstrating how Canadian innovation, expertise and skilled workers can contribute to the security and readiness of allied nations around the world."
From its headquarters in Montréal and operating locations across Canada, Europe and the United States, Top Aces has become a global leader in advanced combat training. The company exports Canadian expertise, technology and operational know-how to support military readiness programs for NATO and allied nations worldwide.
Top Aces is grateful to Minister Joly and her officials for taking the time to visit the facility. The company is proud to support the readiness of the CAF and allied forces and contribute to Canada's defence and aerospace sectors.
