Are you an independent and hands-on HR Professional that will help us recruit, build and develop our team of pilots aircraft technicians, and support staff? Are you ready to become part of the exclusive supplier of combat airborne training services to the German Air Force? We are looking to onboard a: HR Business partner   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: As a HR Business partner you will work closely with the management team and you will support the business objectives by executing the people strategy and offering a diverse range of human resources services in Talent Management, Recruitment, Total Rewards and People Culture. This position is based in Hermannsburg, Germany and can occasionally require you to travel to the Headquarter in Canada. In your new role you will be reporting to the Program Manager – German Operations and work closely with the Director of Human Resources based in Canada.

  • Support Managers in different areas/functions to develop their organizations and teams;
  • Ensure talent attraction, retention, engagement and development as well as succession planning;
  • Deliver communication on key HR programs, policies and procedures;
  • Help assigned departments with a variety of HR strategies to build and maintain high performing teams;
  • Manage and deliver new hire onboarding activities and offboarding departing employees;
  • Promote corporate values and organizational culture; Act as change agent when implementing new technologies, work methods, organizational changes and others;
  • Develop and track Objectives Key Results (OKR) for the human resources department and provide management with analysis and recommendations;
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of company salary structure, job documentation, and job evaluation systems;
  • Manage the performance evaluation process; evaluate assessment systems, make improvements and monitor;
  • Manage employee relations issues;
  • Assist managers with communications, team meetings, recognition processes, termination process and team building;
  • Take action to solve complex problems and suggest proactive approaches as well as potential solutions to management issues in assigned disciplines;
  • Maintain and update various database and employee records;
  • Administer benefits program of the company (enrollments, updates, terminations, etc.);
  • Liaison with provider for payroll processing;
  • Contribute to the accuracy and integrity of the payroll function within the company;
  • Respond to employee and department enquirers as they relate to Human Resources;
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

  Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of relevant experience;
  • Bachelor degree in Human Resource or Business;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, in English and German;
  • Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization;
  • Strong business acumen with proven experience in partnering with the business to understand business priorities, principles and practices and the ability to translate those into HR priorities;
  • High standards of integrity, energy level, and self-motivation;
  • Strong understanding of the regulations and policies of German labor law and regulations;
  • Positive attitude with strong relationship building skills;
  • Strong influencing, judgment and consultative skills;
  • Strong project management skills to lead HR initiatives and programs;
  • Experience with working from distance;
  • Payroll experience for salaried and hourly employees is an asset;
  • Good knowledge of Payroll systems.
